About the Client

Our client is a branding, franchise management, and merchandise licensing company specializing in the toy, kids’ entertainment, and lifestyle industries. They are seeking an experienced Website Developer to build a modern, scalable website for one of their toy manufacturing clients launching a new line of wooden construction brick toys in the U.S. market.

The website will initially serve as a product showcase but is expected to evolve into a full e-commerce platform with future scalability in mind.

Project Overview

The current website is a temporary landing page built using GoDaddy. The selected developer will recommend the most suitable approach for the client’s long-term goals and build a professional website that can grow alongside the business.

The client is currently evaluating two options:

• Product catalog/informational website

• Full direct-to-consumer e-commerce website

The successful candidate should be comfortable advising on the best technical solution based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development

• Build a professional, responsive website from the ground up

• Recommend the best platform for future scalability (Shopify preferred)

• Customize themes or develop custom functionality as needed

• Ensure excellent user experience across desktop and mobile devices

• Transfer or migrate the existing GoDaddy website if required

E-commerce Development (if approved)

• Develop a scalable Shopify e-commerce store

• Configure product catalog

• Set up approximately 16 initial products with room for future SKUs

• Configure collections and categories

• Set up product pages

• Configure payment gateways

• Configure shipping settings

• Prepare the website for direct-to-consumer sales in the U.S.

Build pages including (but not limited to):

• Home

• About

• Product Catalog

• Individual Product Pages

• Downloadable Instruction Manuals

• Inspiration Gallery

• Contact Page

Additional pages may be added as the business expands.

Product Content Management

• Upload products

• Organize product categories

• Maintain product listings

• Prepare website for future product additions

SEO

Implement on-page SEO best practices including:

• Keyword research and optimization

• Meta titles

• Meta descriptions

• SEO-friendly URLs

• Image optimization

• Site speed optimization

• Search engine indexing best practices

Future Website Maintenance (Potential Ongoing Support)

Depending on business needs, the role may continue beyond launch and include:

• Website updates

• Product uploads

• New SKU additions

• Website maintenance

• Bug fixes

• Performance improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience building websites from scratch

• Strong Shopify development experience

• Experience with custom website development

• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid (preferred)

• Experience with GoDaddy hosting/domain migration

• Strong understanding of responsive design

• Experience with e-commerce best practices

• SEO implementation experience

• Experience optimizing website performance

• Ability to recommend scalable website solutions

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent English communication skills
