The company is an online platform and community for the UK surveying profession, connecting over 25 types of surveyors, professional bodies, universities, and surveying firms. The platform offers a membership community, events directory, job board, podcast, and a newly launched marketplace where companies offering products and services to surveyors can showcase their offerings. The company aims to elevate the surveying profession in the UK and promote career opportunities.

As a startup experiencing rapid growth, we require a versatile VA who can handle multiple responsibilities across website management, social media, marketplace administration, and general administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Website & Marketplace Management – 1st Phase Focus

    • Manage the website (WordPress) and marketplace (drag-and-drop editor, no coding required)

    • Review and approve partner profiles submitted via the website

    • Update and maintain website content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and SEO optimization

    • Liaise with marketplace partners for profile completion, troubleshooting, and ongoing communications

    • Enter and manage partner data in the CRM (Capsule)

  2. Social Media & Content Support

    • Repurpose existing content (articles, podcasts, posts) for multiple channels: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, company pages

    • Edit content for public-facing posts (grammar, tone, formatting)

    • Schedule posts at appropriate UK times (primarily 7:00 AM weekdays)

    • Collaborate on content guidelines and approvals

  3. Podcast Support

    • Assist with publishing podcast episodes (Buzzsprout)

    • Manage show notes and related administrative tasks

    • Repurpose podcast content for social media

  4. Administrative Support

    • General support across various areas of the business

    • Track tasks, follow processes, and maintain documentation

    • Send end-of-day reports summarizing completed tasks and pending items

    • Maintain organization of ongoing projects and partner/client communications

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in WordPress, drag-and-drop website editors, and CMS platforms

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and scheduling tools (e.g., Publer)

  • Excellent written English skills for content editing

  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tools and processes efficiently

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow step-by-step processes

  • Basic understanding of SEO principles is a plus

  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently

  • Flexible and collaborative in approach

Preferred Qualities

  • Previous experience supporting startups or online communities

  • Some awareness of professional industries or experience working with professional clients

  • Comfort handling multiple hats: website, social media, and administrative support

Work Arrangement

  • Remote and flexible schedule, with the expectation to post content according to UK time zones

  • Initial hours: 5 per week for the first month, growing to 10+ hours as workload increases
