About the Organization:
supports education and awareness around plant-based medicine in animal health. Their audience includes:
  • Veterinary professionals (science-based, clinical focus)
  • Pet owners (emotional, educational, real-life stories)

The organization is currently rebuilding its systems, digital presence, and communication structure after a period of transition and team turnover.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To rebuild, manage, and grow the Society’s digital presence through structured social media, newsletter management, email marketing, and community engagement — while maintaining a professional, educational, and science-informed tone.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media Management (Rebuild Phase)

  • Help rebuild and organize existing social media presence
  • Manage and grow platforms:
    • Instagram
    • Facebook
    • LinkedIn
  • Develop and schedule monthly content calendars
  • Turn client-provided raw content into:
    • Educational posts
    • Short-form videos / reels
    • Informative graphics
  • Ensure messaging speaks to two audiences:
    • Veterinarians (clinical, research-based)
    • Pet owners (educational, emotional, relatable)

Content Creation Support

  • Edit and repurpose provided materials into:
    • Short educational reels
    • Before/after story-style content (animal recovery stories)
    • Awareness-based visuals
  • Use Canva or similar tools to create branded visuals

Newsletter Management (Mailchimp)

  • Set up, design, and send newsletters via Mailchimp
  • Ensure:
    • Sponsor recognition is consistently included
    • Educational updates and society news are featured
  • Maintain subscriber lists and segmentation

Email Marketing Support

  • Build and manage email campaigns in Mailchimp
  • Assist with:
    • Sponsor communication
    • Community updates
    • Event and webinar promotions

Light Research & Admin Marketing Support

  • Research potential sponsors and partners
  • Help organize contact lists for outreach
  • Support structured marketing follow-up tasks

Webinar & Live Event Support (Future Phase)

  • Assist in setting up and promoting:
    • Live “Coffee Chat” style sessions
    • Educational webinars
  • Tasks may include:
    • Event page setup
    • Email invites
    • Social media promotion
    • Post-event follow-ups

Community Engagement

  • Support engagement on social platforms:
    • Responding to comments (as guided)
    • Monitoring messages
    • Helping rebuild follower engagement

Canva & Visual Asset Support

  • Create and refine:
    • Social media graphics
    • Newsletter visuals
    • Sponsorship presentation materials
    • Educational visual content

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong copywriting & editing
  • Social media content planning & scheduling
  • Canva graphic design
  • Mailchimp (newsletters + campaigns)
  • Ability to follow science-informed and professional tone
  • Organized, proactive, and able to work with loose/raw content
  • Comfortable working with global teams and structured reporting
