Web Developer

Role Overview:

Regional Business Toolkit is a small, purpose-driven agency that works predominantly with non-profit organisations in regional areas. Our mission is to help these organisations increase their impact through strong digital foundations, starting with high-quality websites and extending into automation and business systems.

We are seeking an experienced WordPress Web Developer (VA) to support ongoing website builds and updates for our clients. This role will initially start part-time, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position for the right person.

Scope of Work:

The role will involve a mix of new website builds and ongoing client support.

  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Building WordPress websites from approved designs (primarily from Figma files)
    • Translating homepage and internal page designs into fully functional live websites
    • Creating new pages and layouts for existing client websites
    • Developing and updating website forms for new programs or initiatives
    • Performing general website updates, improvements, and minor enhancements
    • Assisting with integrations and connections to third-party tools when required
    • Reviewing existing sites and proactively suggesting improvements or optimisations
    • Managing assigned tasks independently and providing regular progress updates
    • Approximately:
      • 50% new website builds
      • 50% ongoing updates and discrete client tasks
  • Most tasks fall within standard web development work and do not require highly complex or custom development.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a WordPress web developer
  • Strong experience using page builders (Beaver Builder preferred)
  • Experience with Elementor (highly acceptable, with skills transferable to Beaver Builder)
  • Ability to work from Figma designs and accurately implement layouts
  • Solid understanding of responsive design and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple small tasks and projects independently
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to identify issues or improvements and proactively raise them
  • Reliable, organised, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills and openness to feedback

  • Beaver Builder (primary page builder)
  • Elementor (acceptable experience)
  • Figma (design handover)
  • Slack (team communication)
  • Asana (task and project management)

Shifts & Hours:

  • Part-time: Starting with a minimum of 15 hours per week to start; flexible working hours
    • Opportunity to increase hours and move toward a full-time role over time
    • Preferred (but not required): Some overlap with Australian business hours (9am–5pm AEST)
    • Open to working asynchronously with regular daily check-ins
  • Target Start Date: Flexible / As soon as the right candidate is identified
    • Hiring is not urgent; priority is finding the right long-term fit
