Video Editor

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and independent Video Editor who can transform long-form recorded conversations into engaging short-form content for social media platforms such as Instagram Reels and TikTok. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of storytelling, understands what moments create value for an audience, and can proactively identify the best clips without requiring step-by-step direction.

The focus of this role is editing only – no posting, scheduling, or social media management is required.

Scope of Work:

  • Edit long-form video recordings (e.g., conversations with clients, employers, or similar discussions).
  • Identify and extract the most valuable and engaging moments from long-form content independently.
  • Convert selected segments into short-form videos optimized for Reels and TikTok.
  • Apply provided brand style, brand voice, and editing guidelines.
  • Deliver polished short-form video outputs ready for distribution.
  • Incorporate feedback efficiently and make minor revisions when needed.
  • Key expectation:
    • The editor must be able to decide which parts of the video are worth turning into content without being told exactly what timestamps to use.
  • Output Expectations:
    • Minimum of 2 short-form videos per week
    • Volume may increase over time, but no fixed upper limit is currently set.

Qualifications:

  • Must provide a portfolio or proof of previous work, preferably including short-form video edits.
  • Demonstrated ability to edit short-form content from long-form videos.
  • Strong judgment in identifying engaging, high-impact moments.
  • Open to feedback and capable of adapting edits to brand preferences.

Tools & Software:

  • Open to any video editing tools or software the candidate prefers.
  • Use of AI tools to identify highlight clips is allowed and encouraged if it improves results.
  • No specific software is required, as long as outputs meet quality expectations.
  • Any paid software subscriptions required for the role may be discussed separately.

Work Hours & Shifts:

  • Part-time role: Starting with minimum of 10 hours per week; flexible working hours
  • Target Start Date: Hiring timeline: Within 1–2 weeks
    • Not urgent, priority to find the best match VA.
